Sölden has the most pistes of the entire valley, which extend on the east-facing slope above the town. The first part is steep, sparsely wooded and meanders mainly through the narrower slopes of the slopes into the valley.
Ski area Sölden:
This prominent ski area is one of Austria’s most visited tourist destinations, the deeply incised Ötztal valley being one of the best and most expensive addresses. From Sölden, which is the imaginary center of a busy ski valley, there are extensive slopes with more than 1,600 m of elevation gain and honestly sport-oriented tracks, which are still covered by two glaciers – the steeper Rettenbach and the gentle Tiefenbach. The transport park is powerful with fast lifts and the snow security due to the altitude is exceptional.
The capital of the Ötztal valley is Sölden, which could be described as a big city of skiers. The main street is constantly buzzing, and in the early evening the local apres-ski bars are literally “stuffed” with skiers. Skiers come here for more than half of the year, and hotels are occupied even when the lifts in many resorts have long since been turned off. There is simply a lot of skiing in Sölden – except for peace, look for that elsewhere.
